U.S.-Patented Internal Locking System

The lock they can't see. The load they can't touch.

VaultX secures shipping containers and 53-ft van trailers from the inside. No visible lock means no visible target — and the load stays sealed even when the doors are attacked.

The Problem

Cargo theft is a $35 billion problem — and climbing

Estimates of the true cost run high. Homeland Security Investigations has cited up to $35 billion a year in losses across the U.S. supply chain — a figure that bundles broker fraud and cargo interception alongside physical theft — while older FBI and industry estimates land in the $15–30 billion range. Counting only reported physical theft, U.S. losses still reached an estimated $725 million in 2025, up roughly 60% year over year, and Geotab pegged North American losses at $6.6 billion. However it's measured, the number is enormous and climbing.

Thieves target what they can see: the padlock, the bolt seal, the visible hardware on the door. Every external lock is a signal — it advertises that the load is worth taking and shows a thief exactly what to cut. Traditional bolt and cable seals are applied once, cut off at the destination, and thrown away every trip, deterring almost nothing while generating constant waste.

Prevention, not notification

Most cargo security tells you after the load is already gone. VaultX stops the break-in from ever happening.

GPS trackers, sensors, and smart seals are great technology — but they alert you that a container has already been broken into. That's a claim, not a save. VaultX works differently: by locking the doors from the inside and holding them shut, it prevents the break-in in the first place.

And it protects freight where theft actually happens. The majority of U.S. cargo theft occurs while trailers and containers sit idle — in yards, drop lots, and unsecured parking, where a load can be worked open at leisure. VaultX guards cargo at rest, not just in motion.

Why VaultX

Security that travels on the inside

Invisible by design

The locking mechanism sits inside the container or trailer. From the outside there's nothing to pick, cut, or signal that the load is protected.

Holds under attack

Rated for 1.2 metric tons (about 2,600 lb) of holding force in container mode. The doors stay drawn shut from within even if the external hardware is compromised. To date, no VaultX lock has ever been defeated or broken into.

The most versatile lock in freight

One system covers the whole fleet: tractor-trailer hinged (swing) doors, roller/rollup doors, and ISO shipping containers. It's the most versatile lock ever made for the shipping industry.

Installs in minutes

VaultX mounts to the door with minimal modification, so a crew can retrofit a container or trailer in just a few minutes.

Built to keep working

Rechargeable power, engineered for demanding freight environments — including refrigerated and cold-chain service.

Reusable, not disposable

One durable device replaces a stream of single-use seals — reusable trip after trip, with no consumable to cut off and discard.

How it works

Secure from within — in three steps

STEP 01

Mount at origin

The unit mounts to the door in minutes with minimal modification.

STEP 02

Lock from the inside

The system draws the doors shut from within and holds them — no external lock, no visible target.

STEP 03

Release on arrival

Authorized release at the destination, then the unit is recharged and reused on the next load.
